The Music chooses one song every week as its Power Pick, shining a light on ONE Aussie song that we think has the potential to be the next big Australian chart hit.

Our Power Pick committee consists of Richard Kingsmill (consultant and former triple j Group Music Director), Maddy Rowe (Nova nights announcer), Nic Kelly (Hit Network nights announcer), Ash McGregor (host of Listen Up with Ash McGregor), Kathy McCabe (News Corp National Music Writer), Brenton Larney (co-host of Breaking Through Podcast), Triana Butler (host on Joy 94.9), Matty Morris (Super Radio Network nights announcer), and Matt O’Gorman (Triple M Homegrown host).

When it comes to Australian producers having their moment in the sun, it’s hard to look past the likes of names such as Ninajirachi (who continues her invasion of the US market) and Dom Dolla (who is continuing to hit new heights).

Helping to show just how popular and economically viable the electronic music genre is, Dolla recently wrapped up a massive headline hometown gig at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium, and after a brief appearance at the MCG for Kylie Minogue’s AFL Grand Final performance, has found himself back over in the US.

Somehow, he’s also found time to drop his latest new single, the all-star banger that is Danger Danger.

A collaboration with European producer extraordinaire Solomun and featuring UK hip hop stalwart Skepta, it’s a meeting of three stunning musical minds, and one that has been highly anticipated ever since it received a live debut in July at Dolla and Solomun’s respective Ibiza residencies.

CHART UPDATE

It's something of a dethroning atop the Radio Monitor Hot 100 this week, with Temper City’s Self Aware jumping up to the top spot and relegating local legend G Flip to the second position for the first time in weeks.

Sadly, that's the last Aussie in the top ten, though Sonny Fodera and Becky Hill's Say Something jumps three spots to a new peak of No. 12. It's another drop before we find a fellow local by way of CYRIL's Breathless, which holds steady at No. 30.

Josh Fawaz' controversial Like A Prayer is down three spots to No. 33 following a previous peak atop the chart, while Troye Sivan's Party jumps two spots to No. 36.

Tame Impala's Loser drops two spots to No. 37, while Yes Boone's Nosebleeds drops just on spot to No. 38, serving as the meat in a Tame Impala sandwich which sees Dracula jumping two spots to No. 39.

Sonny Fodera's Think About Us holds at No. 43 this week as it nears a full year in the chart (including a top placing), while this week's Power Pick debuts at No. 46 to wrap up the local representation in the top 50.

Over on the ARIA Singles chart, it's once again the Tame Impala show, with Kevin Parker the only local in the top 50. Loser jumps two spots to No. 16, while Dracula follows suit, rising one position to No. 29.
