Renowned Brisbane live music venue and nightclub The Met is up for sale.

As Commercial Real Estate reports, the Fortitude Valley hotspot has hit the market four years after Trent Meade and Matt Blyth, directors of Revelry Entertainment and The Met Nightclub, purchased the venue for $3.5 million.

It should be business as usual for whoever takes over the venue however, as it has a reported 40-year lease, with options to expand.

In recent years, The Met has played host to a string of international acts such as Skrillex, Hardwell and Steve Aoki, as well as local favourites, Bag Raiders, Tigerlily and Will Sparks.

"It is the right time to exit with the business extremely profitable, and still offering enormous upside for the next operator," Meade said.

Meade and Blyth are reportedly selling The Met to move into the food and beverage market.

Expressions of interest close on 22 November, unless the venue is sold before that date.

The Music has contacted The Met for further comment.

The news comes as fellow live music venue, Sydney's Oxford Art Factory, prepares to go to auction on 28 November.
