INXS ProfileProposals for a museum honouring the legacy of INXS have been unveiled this week.
As Northern Star reports, plans call for 'The X Building' (literally designed in the shape of the letter 'x') to be based in Ballina near the Ballina-Byron Gateway Airport.
At a meeting hosted by the Northern Rivers NSW Business Chamber on Tuesday, INXS band manager CM Murphy and project partner Sara Szabo presented a three-dimensional model of the proposed building which they believe could push Ballina as a massive tourist destination.
Though the museum would not be designed specifically for passionate INXS fans, the building would feature a hologram of the band performing live, while video and other archive collections would also be on display.

The talk comes just weeks after the 20th anniversary of iconic frontman Michael Hutchence's death, which the band addressed at last month's ARIA Awards.
"In a way, I find I almost sort of try and avoid the anniversary," band member Kirk Pengilly said.
"Of course I think about it, but it's not something I want to celebrate. It's more the fun times we had together as a band and with Michael and what a fantastic person he was.
"So many people remember where they were when Michael died. It's one of those sort-of, significant deaths in the history of Australia. But in saying all that, we'll always miss him and... he's one of the greatest performers ever and a great guy. None of us will ever forget him, that's for sure."
