Chicago pop-rock outfit Plain White T’s are heading back to Australia this October and November, today announcing their Hanging Out Down Under Tour.
While the band were recently in Australia – opening for Yellowcard on their Ocean Avenue 20th anniversary tour last April – the upcoming shows mark Plain White T’s first headline tour in the country in over a decade.
The tour begins at Sydney’s Factory Theatre on Tuesday, 27 October. It continues at Brisbane’s The Triffid on Thursday, 29 October, Melbourne’s 170 Russell on Saturday, 31 October, and concludes at Adelaide’s Lion Arts Factory on Sunday, 1 November.
Pre-sale tickets will be available on Thursday, 18 June, at 10 am AEST, followed by the general sale on Monday, 22 June, at 10 am AEST. You can find ticketing information on the TEG Live website.
For the tour, the Hey There Delilah hitmakers – the song turned 20 last year – will be joined by special guests Teenage Joans. The Australian rock duo have recently opened shows for Biffy Clyro and Hot Mulligan, and this September, they will be special guests for the just-reformed Violent Soho.

Hey There Delilah is a song that’s now resonating with a new audience, having blown up on TikTok over the past month and re-entering the ARIA Singles Chart this week at #87. Upon its release in 2005, it reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, achieved quadruple-Platinum status, and earned two Grammy nominations for Song of the Year and Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group.
Their impact on pop culture expands further than chart success and award nominations, having featured on the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Sesame Street, iCarly, Beavis & Butthead, and more.
Plain White T’s’ most recent album, their self-titled effort, arrived in late 2023.
