Philippe Zdar, aka Philippe Cerboneschi, of French duo Cassius, has died aged 50.
"He made an accidental fall, through the window of a high floor of a Parisian building," Farran said.
A pioneering French producer, Zdar was at the cutting edge across 90s and 00s music and is known for collaborating with the likes of Beastie Boys, Phoenix, Franz Ferdinand, The Rapture, Cat Power, Cut Copy and more.
A number of local artists have expressed their shock and sadness on social media at the news with Flight Facilities saying "Zdar laid the ground work for a lot of today's dance music".

So sad to hear of the passing of the legendary #philippezdar of @CASSIUSOFFICIAL. A true original and a unique talent who was involved in making our first album, as well as so many amazing records. Your energy and generosity will be sorely missed. RIP brozeur xxx ❤️❤️❤️— cut/copy (@cutcopy) June 20, 2019
So sad to hear of the passing of Philippe Zdar. ‘Feeling For You’ was one of the first singles I ever bought. For anyone not familiar with his work, @CASSIUSOFFICIAL & Zdar laid the ground work for a lot of today’s dance music. Hugely inspirational.
