Though they've been quiet for a while, Sydney indie rockers Philadelphia Grand Jury are back with a vengeance in the form of their newest single, Crashing And Burning pt II, as well as a national tour to support it.
The trio are also gearing up for the release of their second album Summer Of Doom, out 2 October, so their run of Australian dates comes at a perfect time — they kick off the tour at The Brightside in Brisbane on Friday, 23 October, before heading to Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne, Hobart and Perth until Saturday, 7 November. They'll be bringing out High-Tails for the ride.
Of the new track, the boys say: "It's the only song we kept from the original abandoned second album sessions and was written with hero drummer Calvin Welch in a dingy studio space in South London. We then re-recorded it in Berlin (at Berkfinger's "Golden Retriever Studios"), jazzed it up a little, fixed the lyrics and it ended up being pretty banging."
