Beloved RTRFM personality Peter Barr has announced he will step down from the station later this month to join the ABC.
After handing over the Breakfast reigns in 2014, the long-running presenter focused on his role as Talks Producer and Program Director.
“Every band, artist, comedian, actor, politician and listener in WA owes so much to Peter Barr as both a broadcaster and a friend,” RTRFM said.
“The station will not be the same without him but will be all the better for having his presence over the last 25 years. Thank you, Peter; we wish you every bit of luck in the world and in the next chapter of your life.”
Barr’s last day at RTRFM will be July 25, before he takes up the position of Presenter and Producer of ABC’s South West Mornings.
