The North West Festival returns to the Pilbara region of Western Australia on Saturday 24 August, once again bringing the people of Port Hedland some of Australia's finest talent for one massive day of kick arse music.

Just how fine can it be? Try this one for size:

Paul Kelly, Bernard Fanning, 360, Grinspoon, The Black Seeds (NZ), Bluejuice, Abbe May and Vance Joy.

Yep, two of the most celebrated Australian singer-songwriters around in Paul Kelly and Bernard Fanning will head up the bill, giving the people in the Pilbara region some of the most well-loved songs among Australians on this one special day.

Let's not forget the all-conquering 360, who'll inject an energetic dose of Aussie hip hop, kiwi reggae masters The Black Seeds, recently reshuffled pop-rock maestros Bluejuice, localish lady Abbe May and one of the fastest rising stars of the year, Vance Joy.

Over 3,500 people attended last year, and if you plan on taking their lead for the 2013 instalment you'd better start making plans. The Port Headland Turf Club will hold the event and once again they are offering complimentary camping to all punters; given there's practically no other accommodation options, it's probably a good idea to take them up on that.

Tickets will go on sale from 9am Wednesday 22 May through Moshtix and outlets; they'll set you back $139 + bf unless you opt for the VIP treatment, in which case you'll be looking at $295 + bf.
