Paramore released their first album, All We Know Is Falling when the band members were teenagers.
Seeing a band form and release music at such a young age undoubtedly influenced so many watching it occur in real-time, and at Paramore’s show in Houston on Wednesday (12 July), their influence stretched even younger.
Meet nine-year-old Riley, who the band invited to perform Misery Business with Hayley Williams.
If you’ve never been to a Paramore show, here’s what you need to know: every night, they bring a random fan on stage to perform the final verse and last chorus of their Riot! hit, Misery Business, with the band.
In Riley’s case, she was in the seated area but in view of the band, holding a handwritten sign that read, “Pick me!” The band chose Riley, and she made her way to the stage.
After Williams urged the crowd to “scream louder than you ever have for Paramore” and introduced Riley to guitarist Taylor York, drummer Zac Farro and the rest of their touring band, Williams and Riley launched into an energetic duet to close Misery Business that honestly ripped. You can watch footage from the show below.

Last month, Paramore announced their first Australian tour since 2018. Joined by special guest, Californian blues singer Remi Wolf, the band will head to Auckland’s Spark Arena, Brisbane Entertainment Centre, Sydney’s Domain, and Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena.
After the pre-sale was met with overwhelming demand, Paramore added extra shows in Brisbane in Melbourne.
Paramore are touring in support of their excellent sixth album, This Is Why, which debuted atop the ARIA Albums Chart and Vinyl Albums Chart in its first week.
This week, Kill Your Stereo chose Six Deep Cuts Paramore Should Dig Out For Their 2023 Australian Tour. With another ten new songs in their arsenal, the band’s setlists are starting to face a common problem for touring acts with ever-growing catalogues: they have dozens of fantastic great songs to play and not nearly enough time to play them all.
Until they go full Springsteen and start playing four-hour sets, Paramore have to be studious about their running orders – and not everyone will be happy with the songs they choose. You can find our picks here.
