Pandora Strikes Sony Device Deal

Streaming radio available on range of TVs and blue-ray players

Online streaming radio service Pandora has announced a deal that will see their service added to a range of Sony televisions, blu-ray players and audio devices.

The service officially re-launched in Australia last December with a partnership with car manufacturer Holden in place. Unlike on-demand services like Spotify, Mog, Deezer and Rdio, Pandora generates a playlist using its musical genome based on a listener's first track.

Pandora's Australia and New Zealand Managing Director Jane Huxley described the pick-up from local users as “outstanding” and said, “Our partnership with Sony comes at the perfect time.”

Offered as a free service, it is available on a range of 2012 Sony Bravia televisions, blue-ray disc players and home theatre systems, AV receivers and Bookshelf hi-Ff with internet radio models.
