Pagan are one of Australia's best bands - FACT!
The crazed blackened rock and roll sounds coming from Pagan have netted the Melbourne band so much love and so many awesome opportunities over the past year or so; from playing BIGSOUND, hitting up Yours & Owls, opening Unify Gathering 2017, opening up for Pennywise last year, and touring with bands like King Parrot to their good friends in Clowns.

2018 will eventually see the release of this cultish band's debut full-length via EVP Recordings (who they signed up with last year), but before that debut LP arrives, there's a brand new single for us to sink our fangs into: 'Death Before Disco'.
The band's first new single in over 12 months smashes together each element that makes Pagan's music stick out so well amongst the local scene. It combines Nikki Brumen’s rabid screams and her harsh, anger-laced vocals; Xavier Santilli's swaying and rollicking guitar riffs of; the groovy bass lines from Dan Bonnici (who also offers some really nice backing vocalisations here); and the punk rock, dance-floor crushing drumming of Matt Marasco to create a highly macabre piece of rock. Not only that but the quartet's bleak black metal undertones and their party-gone-horribly-wrong vibe here adds a whole other level of danger to their infectiously dark music. And the end result overall is something truly wicked.
Alongside 'Wine And Lace' and their previous single 'Initiate Me', this new track has got to be one of Pagan's best cuts yet and it makes me so fucking giddy for their debut LP. So much so that the mere thought of waiting is becoming quite painful. But hopefully, whatever Pagan bring us all next will be well worth the wait.

Pagan have also planned a headlining ritual for Friday, April 20th with their mates in Ferla, LOOBS, Lost Talk, Bad Batch, and DJ Hayley Mary (The Jezabels). Full details on this Melbourne Holy Communion right here.
