A DJ reportedly described punters as "demonically possessed"
An unidentified drug at Queensland’s YewbuNYE rave has killed one punter while leaving two others fighting for their lives in hospital.
As ABC reports, police were called to the Mount Lindesay event on New Year’s Day to treat five individuals, with one male going into cardiac arrest and ambulance crew unable to revive him, while one was flown to Gold Coast University Hospital and another to the Toowoomba Base Hospital.
Two other individuals suffering adverse effects from the substance reportedly fled into the bush when offered treatment.
Several punters were hallucinating and behaving erratically, with Zee Nagual – who was a DJ at the event – saying a handful of festivalgoers at the 500 person party were “out of control”.

"From my camp site, I was observing bunch of about four young people looking like if they're demonically possessed," Nagual told ABC.
"There were four of them in a group together, but they were just erratically going around waving their hands and gibbering and yelling."
Police are currently having the drug believed to have caused the incident tested.
