We may already have the biggest song of 2021.
It's only been out for barely two weeks but its entirely possible that Olivia Rodrigo's hit track, Driver's License, will be the biggest song of 2021.
The 17-year-old US singer's song hit #1 in Australia this past weekend - making her the first artist to land at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart with their debut single since Harry Styles in 2017 - but it has also cracked top spot in the US, UK, Canada, Netherlands, Norway, Ireland, New Zealand and Portugal.
On 11 January, Driver's License set the Spotify record for most streams in a day (over 15.17 million streams) and then surpassed that figure the very next day (over 17.1M streams).
As well as now holding the record for the biggest weekly streaming debut of any song in Spotify history, Driver's License also went to #1 on the streaming service across 31 countries, as well as Apple Music across 48 countries.
Globally, the single racked up 27 million streams (five million in Australia alone) in just the first week of release.
