Olafur Arnalds ProfileAward-winning Icelandic composer and multi-instrumentalist Ólafur Arnalds is heading to Australia in early 2027, announcing highly anticipated dates across the country.
Nominated for Grammy and Emmy Awards and a BAFTA winner, Arnalds is known for his stunning music, blending strings, piano, and electronic textures into a signature sound that sits between ambient, classical, and contemporary music.
Arnalds’ Australian tour commences at the East Perth Power Station as part of Perth Festival on Thursday, 25 to Friday, 26 February.
It continues at the Thebarton Theatre for Adelaide Festival on Sunday, 28 February, with headline shows at Brisbane’s Queensland Performing Arts Centre’s (QPAC) Concert Hall on Tuesday, 2 March, the Sydney Opera House on Friday, 5 and Saturday, 6 March, and Melbourne’s Hamer Hall on Sunday, 7 and Monday, 8 March.
Tickets to all shows aside from the Melbourne dates – going on sale next week – are now available. To find out more, head to the QPAC, Sydney Opera House, Arts Centre Melbourne, Perth Festival, and Adelaide Festival websites.
Arnalds last visited our shores in 2018. While he’s previously played a sold-out show at the Sydney Opera House, this tour marks his Hamer Hall debut.
Discussing his forthcoming return, Arnalds said, “I haven’t toured Australia solo since 2018, and I’ve really missed it.
“Falling Apart Together is a very personal show, built around connection and the feeling of creating something that feels genuinely shared for an evening. I’m so happy to finally bring it to Australia; it feels like the right place for this show.”
Arnalds’ Falling Apart Together production invites audiences into his cinematic universe, which depicts the combination of music, storytelling, and theatre. It promises a completely unique experience that unfolds differently at each show.
“In a world where the distance between us feels like it’s growing day by day, I wanted to create something that guides us back to each other,” he explained. The show explores themes of community and togetherness, encouraging punters in the room to connect and collaborate.
Falling Apart Together marks Arnalds’ most ambitious live production to date, and in February and March 2027, Australia gets to experience the show.
