Okkervil River Name Local Supports

Ernest Ellis and Roller One have been confirmed

More Okkervil River Okkervil River Profile

Austin indies Okkervil River are heading back to our shores this month for the sixth time, and to further show their fondest for our country, have named local acts Ernest Ellis and Roller One as their supports.

Sydney-based Ellis will be joining the indie folk-rockers on tour in Sydney and Melbourne, whilst duo Roller One will be playing at the Melbourne show only. Fans of Ellis will no doubt be hopeful he'll showcase some of his forthcoming album Cold Desire to set the atmosphere for the Okkervil River crew.

Speaking of the indie folk-rock collective, they will be taking the crowd back in time as they perform songs from their recently-released album The Silver Gymnasium, which is a throwback to the 1980s, along with plenty of other material from the band's 15 year career.

Based on previous visits, this Texan-bred outfit are not ones to disappoint in their live exploits, so if you are a fan, check out theGuide for details on these shows plus their Perth Festival appearance.
