"She's like the glue of everyone in the world! Everyone loves her!"

Remember Brooke Satchwell? Anne Wilkinson on Neighbours in the late '90s? Bands like Mesa Cosa certainly do, and they're celebrating the life of the 'living legend' in a huge warehouse gig called Satchfest… just because they can.

Speaking to The Music, Chris Penney of garage rockers Mesa Cosa — who is putting on the event alongside tour-bookers/party-lovers Bone Soup — explained, "All of us guys in Mesa Cosa, we were on tour recently, and we were talking about Brooke Satchwell and realised we all had a childhood love for her, and when we started looking into her we realised she's really badass!

"I didn't realise she was at the Mumbai terrorist attack and then she's done heaps of humanitarian and environmental stuff which is really cool," Penney gushes.

The party will be held at a secret location in Sydney on 3 December and will feature a Brooke Satchwell art gallery, karaoke — "with the Neighbours theme song put on loop" — stand-up comedy and an indoor half-pipe. Alongside Mesa Cosa, bands like Los Tones, Rackett, Bilby and Simo Soo will take to the stage to celebrate Satchwell.

"She's like the glue of everyone in the world! Everyone loves her!" says Penney.

Penney reckons there's a chance Satchwell might know about Satchfest already. "We've been getting a lot of messages from friends of ours who actually know Brooke Satchwell, so if she comes, that'll be hilarious."
