Northlane Are Taking 'Mesmer' Around Australia This October

With Erra and Sworn In supporting, both marking their live Australian debuts.

'Mesmer' really was the record that 'Node' should have been. While I didn't feel it was quite the hyped record many others thought it was, it yielded some of the Sydney group's best material to date, namely 'Render', 'Veridian', and 'Paragon'. Since the album's sudden surprise release back in May, and with the near-constant messaging of their automated Facebook Messenger bot keeping fans and punters clued in that something was coming, Northlane yesterday announced they'll be giving their homeland a headline run for their #3 ARIA record.

Bringing both Erra and Sworn In down for their first ever Australian tour respectively, Northlane and their two American pals will be taking in five dates around the country this October, from Adelaide over to Perth right up to Brisbane with Sydney and Melbourne in between.

On top of that, in the initial Facebook announcement post for the tour, the Sydney outfit encouraged fans to tag their favorite local acts so that the band could help provide some local talent to open up each show before the headliners and the two international supports play, saying:

"While both these bands hail from the United States, We haven’t forgotten about how important our local Australian scene is. We haven’t forgotten just how few and far between opportunities can be for upcoming Australian bands, and how far a bit of exposure can go. In the spirit of supporting local Australian music, we have chosen to ask you, our incredible fans, which local acts you’d like to see open the Mesmer World Tour in your city. Go ahead and tag them below in the comments section. We will personally listen to every single suggestion and choose our favourites to kick off each show."
