Beloved Naarm/Melbourne venue the Northcote Social Club is celebrating 20 years in 2025, and to mark the occasion, they’ve detailed their ‘20 Gigs For 20 Years’ concert series.

First opening its doors back in 2005, the Northcote Social Club has carved out a reputation as one of the longest-running venues in Melbourne’s north. Hosting countless gigs for hometown heroes and international favourites over the years – ranging from Courtney Barnett and Camp Cope to Julien Baker and Jason Isbell – they’ve also hosted some big-name secret events, including Lady Gaga and the Pixies.

Along the way, it’s swiftly become one of the most venerated and beloved venues in all of Melbourne – serving as a second home for musicians, music lovers, families, footy fans and foodies alike.

"A friend once told me that walking into the NSC feels like a big warm hug — and that’s exactly the kind of place we've always strived to be," explains Venue Manager Emily Ferris, who’s been with the venue since the first year.

"I’m so excited to see familiar faces returning to the venue  — artists and punters alike — to celebrate what this place has meant to so many of us over the years."

To celebrate two decades, the Northcote Social Club has announced a special series of gigs to mark their 20th anniversary. Kicking off on June 30th with a Social Sanctuary event featuring Owelu Dreamhouse, Cong Josie and The Hell Racers, and more, the next two months will feature a stellar lineup of favourites.

From Kingswood to Gut Health, and Nai Palm to Augie March, punters will be able to catch Darren Hanlon, Alice Ivy, Maple Glider, Jordie Lane, Jazzparty, and much, much more.

There's also a Poison City Records party with Flyying Colours, Chimers, Screensaver, and more on the bill, and a PBS party featuring Night Terrors, Claire Birchall, Vacuum, and more.

There's also further events still to be announced, including a Northside Records party, The Mess Hall, and more. However, it all wraps up on August 29th with a special closing party featuring an as-yet-unannounced lineup.

To make things better, everyone who has patronised the venue is offered to share a ‘love letter to the pub’ in their front bar letterbox, with memories, photos, and more welcomes. All contributors go into the draw to win a double pass to a 20th birthday show of your choice, a $100 food and beverage voucher, and a merch pack.

Making the news even better, anyone who purchases a 20th birthday ticket goes into the draw to win a NSC Golden Ticket — scoring 12 double passes to any NSC shows of your choice over the next 12 months.

Tickets to all the shows are on sale now via the Northcote Social Club website.
