Noel Gallagher’s concert on Saturday night (8 July) was evacuated due to a bomb threat, Ultimate Classic Rock reports. Due to take the stage at Saratoga Performing Arts Centre in New York, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds could not perform following sets by special guests Garbage and Metric.

After the first two sets, a message appeared on the screen (via Times Union), informing punters to leave the venue.

The message read: “ATTENTION! At this time, we will need to evacuate the venue. We ask that you calmly proceed to the nearest EXIT. Please follow directions of staff and police officers. For the safety of everyone, please do NOT rush or push. Thank you for your cooperation.”

At the time of writing, Metric and Gallagher haven’t responded to the incident over the weekend. In a series of tweets, Garbage wrote, “Our love and concern to all the fans at our show in Saratoga Springs tonight. We pray you are all safe and sound. This is fucking insane.”

Nearly two hours later, Garbage followed up the post with, “We have no idea what happened tonight. We were just all evacuated and we were concerned for everyone !!! I’m sorry we have no real information . We were just told there was an emergency evacuation!!!!”

On Sunday, the New York State Police issued a statement revealing that they were responding to a bomb threat. “Out of an abundance of caution, the concert at Saratoga Performing Arts Center was suspended ‪at 9:40 pm, and concert attendees were evacuated without incident,” the New York State Police stated on Facebook.
