Mumford & Sons ProfileChart topping indie-folk Brits Mumford & Sons are now officially on hiatus, their keyboardist Ben Lovett has told Rolling Stone, and there is no telling if or when they will return to active duty.
“There won't be any Mumford & Sons activities for the foreseeable future following Friday's show,” Lovett said.
The band have been pretty much flat out since being discovered before their debut LP Sigh No More was released in 2009. They went on to top charts the world over with that record and saw them play huge arenas around the world, as well as securing mammoth festival slots; including a couple of headline spots at the Splendour In The Grass festival over here.

When asked exactly how long the band would be taking off, Lovett was unwilling to give any indication.
“We have no idea,” he said. “We just know we're going to take a considerable amount of time off and just go back to hanging out and having no commitments or pressure or anything like that.
“It feels like the last week of school right now, before school holiday when you're in high school. The atmosphere on the road is one of . . . I think everyone's excited about being free of schedules.”
The band's second LP Babel was released almost exactly one year ago. It peaked at number two on the ARIA charts upon its release.
