The Pink Floyd drummer will tour Australia throughout September with his new supergroup Saucerful of Secrets.

More Pink Floyd More Pink Floyd

Australian Pink Floyd fans are in for a treat this September as longtime drummer Nick Mason brings his nostalgic supergroup, Saucerful Of Secrets, to our shores.

Formed by Mason in 2018, Saucerful of Secrets revisit the psychedelic and experimental side of Pink Floyd of the late 1960s and early 1970s - particularly the era inhabited by the band's late singer, guitarist and chief songwriter Syd Barrett before he left the band in 1968.

Landing in this niche saw the band quickly gain traction and sell our tours across North America, Europe and the UK, where they played two transformative shows at The Roundhouse: the historic Camden venue where Pink Floyd first played in 1966.

Featuring Mason alongside Spandau Ballet’s Gary Kemp, former Pink Floyd touring bassist Guy Pratt, guitarist Lee Harris and keyboardist Dom Beken, all of whom bring fresh intensity and power to a selection of songs from the iconic band’s halcyon formative years.

Opening up about the inspiration behind forming the supergroup, Mason said, “With the help of some like-minded friends, I have embarked on a voyage of discovery of the music that was the launch pad of Pink Floyd and my working life. It seems too early to retire, and I missed the interaction with other musicians."

Set to kick off their Aus tour in Melbourne on Saturday, 16th September 2023, before heading to Brisbane, Sydney and Perth; this will be the chance that die-hard Pink Floyd fans have been waiting for.

Paul Dainty AO, President and CEO of TEG DAINTY, who will bring the band out to Australia, says: “We’ve been reading the rapturous international reviews of NICK MASON’S SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS shows with envy, waiting patiently, and now it’s finally Australia’s turn. Mason is often referred to as the heartbeat of Pink Floyd and, by all accounts, this is a must-see concert experience.

"These shows will be as close as you can get to jumping in a time machine and catching Pink Floyd at their psychedelic, experimental best.”

Tickets go on sale at 10am (local time) on Wednesday, 22 March, and can be purchased here
