Nick Cave writes Gladiator II script

A script written by Nick Cave which was meant to be the sequel to Ridley Scott’s epic Gladiator movie has surfaced online. The Guardian Newspaper have reported that Scott and leading man Russell Crowe invited Cave to write the script, which would bring back Crowe’s character Maximus who was killed at the end of the original film.

According to a blog synopsis the resulting script is "one of the most amazing, out-of-left-field screenplays... ever read". You can read the detailed synopsis here. While Crowe and Scott were big supporters of the final script, it was turned down by the Hollywood studios.
