Kevin Parker joins Linda Marigliano on a new podcast for a deep dive into his latest Tame Impala album, 'The Slow Rush'

One year ago, Kevin Parker released his fourth Tame Impala album. Titled The Slow Rush, the album would go onto receive multiple awards and become one of his most critically acclaimed releases ever. Containing singles such as 'Lost In Yesterday' and 'Breathe Deeper', the album marked Parker's strongest pivot to electronic and pop music yet, and containing many, many more synths and disco sounds than his debut ten years before it — showing just how far he's come as a producer, artist and creative.

As far as accolades go, The Slow Rush has plenty. It scored Parker a second #1 album in Australia, and is his highest charting album to date in both the US and UK. It reached 14 top 10 chart positions around the world and has amassed over one billion streams and counting. Now, twelve months later, Parker is still giving fans plenty of content to sink their teeth into, and has teamed up with much loved radio presenter/podcast host/all round legend Linda Marigliano for a deep dive into his latest creation.

Titled The Slow Rush: A Deep Dive with Kevin Parker, the podcast was recorded in late February 2020 at the Iconic Westlake Studio’s in Los Angeles. It promises to deliver "a rare insight into one of the world’s best contemporary songwriting and producing brains," and details Parker's unique approach to writing, recording, production.

This podcast comes just before Tame Impala Sound System (comprised of ParkerJay Watson and Dom Simper) will make their live debut in Perth, with the band's full national live tour scheduled to go ahead in December.

The podcast is out now, and is available on Spotify's new Music + Talk feature. Listen here.
