Irregular Fit and ANTE announce L.A.N Party 2.0 to support artists of colour
Irregular Fit and ANTE announce L.A.N Party 2.0 to support artists of colour impacted by the outbreak of COVID-19.
Two collectives have joined forces to not only throw a virtual party for us all to enjoy this weekend, but to also support their communities and those impacted by the outbreak of COVID-19. IRREGULAR FIT and ANTE, two Sydney based collectives, recently launched a fortnightly livestream series and GoFundMe to support artists of colour who need immediate support due to loss of income as a result of the virus outbreak, and are kicking things off again this weekend with another special event.
L.A.N Party 2.0 is set to kick off this Saturday, April 18th live on Irregular Fit's Twitch, and those who can do so are asked to donate to the adjoining GoFundMe to help support those who need it in this incredibly difficult time for many. This next L.A.N Party will feature sets from Charlie Villas, Merve, Red Rey and Support Act.
In the corresponding GoFundMe about section, the event organisers wrote, "Creative industries have taken a large hit in the midst of this pandemic, so we‘re raising funds to support our djs and performers who have all suffered a significant loss of income due to the cancellation of gigs and events."

"Due to current support measures, many within the arts and creative industries don't qualify for government funding and are relying on the now mainly defunct gig economy and casual work.
We wanted to create some respite for people during this time and manage our own mental health so we started L.A.N party: a free fortnightly livestream series that centres First Nations, bla(c)k , POC, trans and queer artists. Given so many artists have lost large amounts of revenue we want to create opportunities for artists and entertainment for everyone out there missing the club.
Every second Saturday L.A.N party will be coming to you live (stream live twitch.tv/irregularfit) showcasing fantastic djs of colour spanning from hip hop, electronic cumbia, vogue/ballroom, house, grime , techno and more. L.A.N party has a little something for everyone."
