Adding to an already hugely impressive line-up of speakers, EMC weren't messing around when they were booking their 2017 conference, cementing this year as one of their very best versions yet. With ANDREW WEATHERALL, TIGERLILY, NGAIIRE, and so many more already announced to be speaking at this year's Electronic Music Conference, today they've announced even more names ready to share their wisdom come the last week of November.
With panels already covering many important topics including the role of indie labels in 2017 (check out our interview with I OH YOU's Johann Ponniah on this very issue), underground parties, safe spaces and more, EMC has revealed today they're adding in other exciting panels such as Breaking Down Blockchain, Hit The Power Button: How Tech is Supersizing Events; Fabric: A Case Study and more. Furthermore, the speakers on these panels include everyone from James Mathison, KLP and Touch Sensitive to industry gurus such as Vanessa Picken from Comes With Fries, APRA’s Frank Rodi, Global Drug Survey UK’s Dr Adam Winstock and Night Mayor Amsterdam, Mirik Milan.
The good news doesn't stop there though, as the first artist of EMCPlay has also been announced today, as Sydney clubbing institution S.A.S.H welcomes deep house legend Fred P to the Inner West’s Sly Fox Hotel on Tuesday November 28 for an EMCPlay night of soul-driven house as the perfect warm up to the week, with more parties soon to be announced for the rest of EMCPlay.

Tickets are still up for grabs, with the option of buying a complete conference pass, or tickets to individual sessions, but with more than 80 speakers confirmed for the conference this year held in Redfern for the first time at Giant Dwarf and Cake Wines Cellar Door, as well as Musica Copa back for another year to close off the week AND EMCPlay mixed in as well, this is shaping up to be one hell of a week!
