New Wollongong Venue Aims To Fill Live Music Void

A new live music venue has launched in Wollongong, with hopes to fill the void left by cult live music space Yours & Owls, which has recently shut down.

The Den is located at The City Diggers Club in the main CBD of the Gong and officially launced over a fortnight ago with a show from Sydney band Battleships and indie quartet Lovers Jump Creek. Holding approximately 500 punters, The Den is the brainchild of the Diggers club along with Wollongong live music initiative and supporter Bear Media.

The new live music space looks set to fill a big chunk of the hole left now that Yours & Owls has officially farewelled its original home in the Gong. The venue was put up for sale back in June.

Upcoming shows at The Den will include bands like The Delta Riggs, The Walking Who and Born Lion. Check out theGuide for details on future gigs at the venue.
