'Came Back Haunted' gives us a taste of the album to come
Trent Reznor finally fessed up last week that Nine Inch Nails would be releasing new material, more specifically an album later this year - now we've got the first taste of what that 'secret' album will sound like.
Came Back Haunted is the new track and is every inch (excuse the bad pun) a NIN song. A definite throwback to the band's early work, there's a noted influence of the Belgian nu beat genre that was all the rage in the 80s in the form of Front 242 and Nitzer Ebb. Nice to see the guys haven't lost any of the aura that made them one of the biggest band's of their generation.
Reznor last week admitted on the official NIN website that the band had been working on a new album for the past twelve months.

“I've been less than honest about what I've really been up to lately. For the last year I've been secretly working non-stop with Atticus Ross and Alan Moulder on a new, full-length Nine Inch Nails record, which I am happy to say is finished and frankly fucking great.”
This track really just makes us want to hear this "fucking great" record already.
