'Michael Hutchence - The Last Rockstar'.

More INXS More INXS

A world exclusive documentary featured on Michael Hutchence is set to screen across Australia ahead of the 20th anniversary of the iconic INXS frontman's death.

Michael Hutchence — The Last Rockstar, to air on Channel Seven, follows a two-year investigation spanning four continents and five countries and will give viewers an intimate insight into Hutchence's life, as well as allow them to hear previously-unreleased music for the very first time.

"This is not Michael Hutchence defined by how he died but by how he lived: a brilliant musician, a brilliant man, a loving father, a true rockstar," Seven Executive Producer, Mark Llewellyn, said.

"This is not a biopic treading over old territory – this will make headlines around the world. New music, new revelations, and the most beautiful home video and insights from his closest friends and family; most of whom have never spoken publicly before.

"Michael left more questions than answers when he left us, and this documentary will provide those answers and much, much more."

Seven are yet to confirm the documentary's screening date.
