Meet this year's Melbourne International Comedy Festival winner of the Best Newcomer Award, Corey White, who gets the ABC Australian Story treatment 8pm 24 Aug.
The half-hour profile, naturally enough titled Seriously Funny, sees White talking about growing up in what was literally a house of horrors, visiting his mother in Boggo Road gaol, his equally criminal father voilent to boot.
Yet the way White tells it, as he does in his autobiographical comedy set, he's, well, seriously funny. Funny enough to have won the chance to present his show at the Edinburgh Comedy Festival.
