More Arcade Fire Arcade Fire

One of the big drawcards for next year's Big Day Out, Arcade Fire, have been hinting at new material for some time now. Given the mammoth success of their latest album – 2010's The Suburbs – it's no wonder there are plenty of people thrilled at the prospect of hearing more work from the Canadian indie giants.

One of the most recent hints had to do with the number sequence 9/9/9 and we now know this means that the first single from the record, its title track Reflektor, will premiere at 9pm on September 9. Of course that doesn't exactly work for Australian audiences, so we're expecting to see it sometime around 11am on Tuesday 10.

The song will come accompanied by a film clip, made by renowned director Anton Corbijin, but when speaking with The Daily Beast, he was unwilling to divulge any further information about it. The band has released a short trailer for the track below.

Arcade Fire play Big Day Out festivals around the country early next year.
