"To now represent them in our territory is a great privilege."
Native Tongue Music Publishing will assume representation duties for respected US publishing house Wixen Music as the result of a new sub-publishing agreement reached between the companies.
The Australian business, steered by stalwart industry identity Jaime Gough, gains access to a catalogue of artists that includes clients such as Tom Petty, Rage Against The Machine, Styx, Rancid, Journey, NOFX, The Doors, Cake, Santana, Fitz & The Tantrums, Jefferson Airplane, Weezer and Missy Elliot, among others.
The deal is another proverbial feather in the cap for Native Tongue, coming directly in the wake of the local publisher's signing of ascendant Aussie LANKS to their local line-up of artists.
Founded in Los Angeles, Wixen Music Publishing has built on its humble beginnings in 1978, when it was founded by businessman and company president/chief executive Randall Wixen, to grow to become a clearly well-regarded entity with offices on both sides of the Atlantic and an objectively impressive roster of acts under their purview.

Both companies adhere to similar philosophies, a key tenet of why Wixen Music decided to align itself with Native Tongue, according to its boss.
"We love multi-generation family-owned publishers and Native Tongue is the exact sort of company we look for to partner with for our sub-publishing," Wixen said in a statement. "Not only do they have the independent spirit we look for, but they have the experience and infrastructure we need to have for a catalogue of our size."
Added Gough: "Wixen is a legendary name in music publishing and a catalogue we have always looked up to and admired."
"Their repertoire includes many great songs we grew up listening to and still love to this very day," he said. "To now represent them in our territory is a great privilege. We look forward to a successful collaborative future with the Wixen family."
