Influential Irish shoegazers My Bloody Valentine have announced onstage that the long overdue follow-up to their seminal 1991 album, Loveless, will be released this week.

Influential Irish shoegazers My Bloody Valentine have announced onstage the long overdue follow-up to their seminal 1991 album, Loveless, will be released this week.


After debuting a new song at a gig in London recently, a member of the audience queried the band as to when a new album will be out, to which My Bloody Valentine frontman Kevin Shields replied: “might be out in two or three days”.

If you watch the video footage of the incident below, it’s hard to tell if Shields is being serious or if it’s a throwaway comment to get the heckler to shut up. Either way, just the thought of new My Bloody Valentine material has us very excited indeed.


The band will be in the country next month for All Tomorrow’s Parties I’ll Be Your Mirror Festival, as well as select headline shows.
