“One of the most significant events we will witness in our lifetimes."
Artists across the globe are among those outraged and shocked following the leak of a draft opinion that suggests the US Supreme Court could vote to overturn Roe v. Wade, a landmark ruling that legalised abortion nationwide.
The Supreme Court is expected to make a decision before the end of June in regard to Mississippi's attempt to make most abortions illegal after 15 weeks of pregnancy, which is about two months earlier than Roe v. Wade allows.
In the lead up to that ruling, a draft by a judge was leaked to US media outlet Politico, which suggests five of the nine judges on the bench will vote to overturn the 49-year-old decision, which has sparked outrage.
Among those posting about the issue is Phoebe Bridgers, who revealed she had an abortion in October of last year while on tour:
I had an abortion in October of last year while I was on tour. I went to planned parenthood where they gave me the abortion pill. It was easy. Everyone deserves that kind of access.

In a lengthy statement, Halsey described it as “one of the most significant events we will witness in our lifetimes”.
“The overturning of Roe V Wade will mark a catastrophic shift in our fundamental rights to bodily autonomy and reproductive health care. We are constituents and we have the right and responsibility to fight this.”

#RoeVWade has been settled law, guaranteed by the Constitution for 50 years; the 14th Amendment to the document that is the foundation of our country’s laws. If they strike down this amendment, what is to stop them striking down others that conservatives don’t agree with?

Once more for the people in the back: WOMEN DON’T GET PREGNANT BY THEMSELVES! Why is there zero sense of shared responsibility?! It’s pathetic, and I stand with the masses of you who are enraged and want to fight back. Hand me my armor. #BansOffOurBodies

Recently, I had an ectopic pregnancy ( or as grandma would call it, a tubal). On August 9, 2021 my fallopian tube ruptured. On August 10, my life was saved…these are some dark days

Every time someone uses the word abortion, it’s easy for someone else to say they’re against it. But using the phrase fundamental women’s equal rights, it’s not so easy, and quite revealing, to oppose it. Make no mistake. It’s never been about “pro-life.” It’s all about misogyny!

I support a woman’s right to choose, and @amandashires and I give to the Yellowhammer fund in Alabama. Please give if you can. https://t.co/X8Knk55bJD
