"I'm very proud to be producing the event again, and look forward to celebrating the wealth of great music made in Victoria."

Music Victoria has today announced the return of their annual awards.

Now in its 14th year, the awards will this year return to the Melbourne Recital Centre in November and will no longer be sponsored by The Age. This year it has been decided that the Global award category will now be known as the Best Intercultural Act award.

“Last year, we introduced a few changes to the awards categories, judging processes and the format of the event itself, which resulted in a more diverse and representative list of nominees," said awards event producer Laura Imbruglia.

"I’m very proud to be producing the event again, and look forward to celebrating the wealth of great music made in Victoria."

The Archie Roach Foundation Award For Emerging Talent will also be continuing in 2019, which will see its awardee given a cash grant and undergo a mentorship program.

"Once again on behalf of the Foundation, I am proud to have this award presented to the next up and coming First Nations artist to support them and their music," shared the legendary Archie Roach.
