“It’s incredibly fitting that 'Music From The Home Front', a project he was immensely proud of in 2020, was one of the events he was working on right up until his last day."
Music From The Home Front will return for a second year later this month with a talent-packed line-up performing at an iconic Melbourne venue.
The returning event, which was conceptualised by the late Michael Gudinski in 2020 and televised to a huge audience during its inaugural run, will take over Sidney Myer Music Bowl on ANZAC Day Eve, April 24, and will feature some of the biggest names in Australian music performing at the venue and via stream.
Appearing live at Sidney Myer Music Bowl will be Amy Shark, Bliss N Eso feat. Kasey Chambers, Budjerah, Jerome Farah, Lime Cordiale, Mia Wray, Tash Sultana, The Rubens, Vance Joy and Royal Melbourne Hospital Scrub Choir, while performances from Ben Lee, Dean Lewis, Gordi, Hayley Mary, Jess Hitchcock, Jimmy Barnes, Mahalia Barnes, Sam Fischer, The Kid Laroi, Tina Arena and You Am I are streamed.
More artists will be announced as the show approaches, and punters/TV viewers can also expect “special moments and surprise collaborations showcasing the breadth and diversity of talent in our local music community”.

Matt Gudinski, who was named Mushroom Group’s new CEO last week, said: “Dad had many great passions throughout his career, but his love of the local music industry never shone brighter than it did during the last year as we suffered through the impact of COVID-19.
“It’s incredibly fitting that Music From The Home Front, a project he was immensely proud of in 2020, was one of the events he was working on right up until his last day. That we can bring to life a broadcast concert version from his hometown of Melbourne, supporting the industry he loved, in a city he long promoted as the leading music capital of Australia, resonates deeply with all of us at Mushroom.”
The huge live music event will “commemorate and pay tribute to our nations’ rich ANZAC history” and be broadcast via Channel 9, 9Now and YouTube from 7:30pm AEST on the night.
Tickets for the concert will go on sale to the general public this Friday, April 16, at 12pm AEST, following pre-sale on April 14.
Last year's event saw performances from Jimmy Barnes, Kevin Parker, Dean Lewis, Tim Minchin, Courtney Barnett, Paul Kelly, Missy Higgins and more, with its resulting soundtrack release dominating the ARIA charts.
