Their mini-festival is hitting Australia when they are here in October.

More Mumford & Sons More Mumford & Sons

It seems that sometimes our speculation can actually be kind of accurate, this certainly proved to be true in the case of Mumford & Sons' forthcoming Australian tour. Indeed, earlier this week on their Facebook page, the band announced that they will be putting on a Gentlemen Of The Road stopover while they are in Australia this October.

The Gentlemen Of The Road mini-festival that Mumford & Sons have been curating for the past couple of years have seen them selecting an impressive array of indie, roots and Americana leaning acts to join them in a big musical celebration in different towns and cities around the world; the shows generally held in places not renowned for having live music. Forthcoming events in the US in the next couple of weeks see the band teaming up with everyone from St Vincent to Gogol Bordello to Dropkick Murphys, Justin Townes Earle and Jeff The Brotherhood.

The band confirmed that there would be an Australian leg as a part of the tour on their Facebook page during the week.

“We debuted the Big Easy Express Film in Australia at Splendour In The Grass this weekend,” they said, in reference to the documentary film made about a series of the Gentlemen of the Road shows. “We've got a surprise in store for you guys – a Gentlemen Of The Road Stopover is on the way… watch this space!!”
