Ted Dwane has a clot on his brain
Mumford & Sons have had to postpone several dates of their current US tour, with bassist Ted Dwane set to undergo surgery to remove a blood clot from his brain.
According to a statement by the band, Dwane had been feeling ill for a few days before being taken to hospital. The folk-rockers said the following:
"Our friend and bandmate Ted has been feeling unwell for a few days, and yesterday he was taken to a hospital to receive emergency treatment. The scans revealed a blood clot on the surface of his brain that requires an operation. Ted is receiving excellent care and we are being assured that he will recover quickly from surgery."
Mumford have postponed shows set for this week in Dallas, Woodlands and New Orleans.
There's been no word yet as to whether this will affect the band's headlining appearance at Splendour In The Grass in July. The guys have stated that "we have no plans to cancel or postpone any other appearances along this current tour."
All the best to Dwane for a speedy recovery.
