Yes, that's right, MUM is pulling out all stops this week to turn The World Bar into a little tropical oasis, complete with bands, beats, a responsible serving of booze, and a mermaid playing Britney Spears covers on the uke... (hope that's actually going to happen)
We've been told that dress ups are highly encouraged, but as if you wouldn't take this opportunity to wear that hideous/amazing Hawaiian shirt you own, or not wash your hair for a week and come as a pirate, or prance around a club in nothing but a grass skirt?! Yeah, exactly.
Headlining the night is Sydney producer ISLND, along with some friends in their live format! With a passion for music since a young age Oliver Fleming aka ISLND has pursued music performance and composition pretty much his entire life.
At the age of 14 he got his hands on an old roland drum machine and a 4 track tape recorder which fuelled his curiosity into electronic music production. Since then, Oliver went on to write and record songs under various monikers. Under each of those names Oliver had a clear idea of what kind of music he wanted to create however ISLND manifested from a bunch of works he created with literally no intentions whatsoever.
Continually honing his live show, ISLND is not adverse to performing with conventional instruments all the way through to electronic anomalies.

So get on down to MUM at The World Bar this Friday to experience a night (hopefully) filled with coconut bra's, mermaids and mermen, luscious beats and let's not forget the most important thing of all - teapots.
