The Mullum Music Festival is giving a few young budding artists the lucky opportunity to get ahead in the music game this November.

After three years of providing successful applicants with invaluable experience and even kick-starting careers, the Youth Mentorship Program is back in 2013 and open to young musicians, 19 years and under.

The festival's program will select five applicants to be teamed up with an established artist from Mullum's massive lineup to jam backstage and chat all things music and industry. The program has been responsible for uncovering and developing some impressive new talent in the past.

"One of the great outcomes of the Mullum Music Festival Youth Mentorship Program has been the progression of young mentored artists” said program co-ordinater Tom Whitaker.

“In 2011 some of the guys from Potato Potato were mentored by Husky. The next year they were booked in their own right on the Mullum Music Festival bill. This year they've played Splendour, Woodford and Bluesfest and have just released their first EP.”

Head over to the festival's website for more info and get your applications in before Monday 21 October.
