While the comedic qualities of the fall taking place during a song about not falling, are rather undeniable, Gray has revealed that the fall was actually pretty brutal.

Mudvayne vocalist Chad Gray has taken a nasty fall from the stage while performing live in Tampa, Florida. Fan footage shows Gray falling mid-performance of the song Not Falling. While the comedic qualities of the fall taking place during a song about not falling, are rather undeniable, Gray has revealed that the fall was actually pretty brutal

Speaking about the incident on Instagram, Gray recounts the experience, explaining the full force of the impact of "the fucking brutal" fall and how dazed it left him. Gray also reveals that he is still sore, days after the incident and appeals to fans to look out for him as the band continues their current tour of the USA. A video of the fall itself can be found beneath the Instagram post embedded below.

The fall took place during the Illinois metallers reunion run of the USA, which has seen them playing sets full of early-mid 00s hits including Happy, Dig and Not Falling. Gray is happy and healthy enough to continue touring, with no dates needing to be rescheduled.

Mudvayne reunited in 2021, playing the Inkcarcertaion festival, ending a 12-year hiatus. The band has continued touring since their return. While no music has surfaced yet, Gray did hint that the reunion would see them hit the studio together on an episode of Avenged Sevenfold member Johnny Christ's podcast Drinks With Johnny. You can watch that full interview below.

Mudvayne's last release was 2009's self-titled full-length. They are currently out on the Freaks On Parade tour with Rob Zombie, Static-X and Powerman 5000.
