You looked into Xavier's eyes for hours...

More Xavier Rudd Xavier Rudd

His rendition of My Own Eyes resonated best with the internet in a year which we ticked over 200,000 total video views and you guys watched an estimated 284,883 minutes of video. Rudd arguably also attracted the most positive comments on the video – “This is a man who is crying for change. If you are listening to this please understand what a crying soul sounds like for those who don't have faith or hope. This is the sound of a soul” and “Thank you man, you, your music, your message,...as pure and beautiful as it gets.” – and the views are still ticking over.

Next popular were The Temper Trap with their stripped back version of Trembling Hands, which we recorded just before the track became the most powerful single off last year's album. It's also got a 100 percent like to dislike ratio, which will be ruined by someone now that we've pointed it out.

The top three is rounded out by a video that was actually uploaded in November 2011, but had traction through 2012 – Cosmo Jarvis' Gay Pirates. We recorded this when the English singer songwriter was just pushing into the Australian market, and he's since been welcomed back with open arms.

Following on from that was the somewhat controversial Bleeding Knees Club clip and San Cisco's Reckless – which had fans asking for guitar tabs for the track. Watch the top five below:
