The Melburnian mainstays will play a pair of shows at their spiritual home next weekend
Melbourne-bred jet-setters Money For Rope are returning to their old stomping ground for a pair of welcome-home shows after a jam-packed 14 months abroad.
No strangers to local haunt The Cherry Bar, Money For Rope will be gracing the venue's well-loved stage for two special evenings this month, with appearances planned for Friday 16 January and Saturday 17 January. The first evening's festivities will include sets from Plague Doctor and Motel Love, with Saturday's revelry bringing the goods from Stella Angelico and Axe Girl, featuring members of West Australian '90s mainstays Jebediah.
The extensive sojourn away from home kicked off in October 13 for the band, and saw them not only hit the United States for last March's South By Southwest showcase before taking in a three-week run of shows around the country, but also head onwards to mainland Europe and the United Kingdom, where they took in an extensive tour of Spain and appeared on high-profile stages at events such as the renowned Glastonbury Festival.
Most recently, they knocked over a tour of India before returning to Europe with buzzworthy troubadour Courtney Barnett at the end of last year, so if you're keen to find out how the band has grown and changed since last we saw their sweet faces round our neck of the woods, head to Cherry next weekend for a little quality time with the freshly returned outfit.
