MMAD's Big Day In Comp Open For Appications

It could be karaoke at work or busking at a BBQ

Charity Musicians Making A Difference (MMAD) have announced 2013's Big Day In competition, asking budding musicians and music-lovers to host their own fundraising performance event for the chance to play on a major festival stage in 2014.

Your Big Day In event could include take place in your lounge room, your workplace, your backyard or wherever, with entrants encouraged to invite as many of their family and pals along as they like to be involved and sponsor their performance to fundraise for MMAD.

Those who participate in the Big Day In comp will be able to upload a video their performance – as long as it's before mid-December – with a guest panel of MMAD staff and ambassadors picking their favourite act. Last year's winners graced the Big Day Out, the Outback Tour and Macksville Festival stages, with the 2013 winner getting the chance to perform on a yet-to-be-announced festival stage next year.

MMAD have helped young people overcome adversity through the mediums of music, dance and art, CEO Dominic Brook explains more.

β€œAt MMAD, we work to support young people who have suffered abuse, neglect and disadvantage to break the negative cycle and strive to make a difference in their communities,” he said.
