Missy Higgins To Go No. 1 Next Week?

Early indications suggest Higgins could take the top spot of the ARIA Albums chart back for the locals.

Missy Higgins is in line to take the top spot of the ARIA Album chart this week with her album The Ol' Razzle Dazzle.

Released last Friday, Higgins' comeback album will be represented in the charts released on Sunday. According to a source close to the matter, Higgins' early week numbers were enough to suggest she could challenge for the number one spot and put an Australian artist back up the top.

The suggestion is backed up by the fact that the album is still number one on the iTunes album chart for Australia today. That should in itself give her a fair claim to the top spot on the Digital Albums chart.

John Mayer went to the top of the chart on debut last week, while she'll also have to fend off sales from Keith Urban (fuelled by The Voice, where he is a judge), the boy band juggernaut that is One Direction, UK darling and soon-to-be touring Ed Sheeran and The Temper Trap.

Albums from Sam Sparro, The Beach Boys and Neil Young are also expected feature in next week's charts.
