Gotye ProfileGotye treated the studio audience at the New York City taping of The Late Show With David Letterman to a full set when he was in the Ed Sullivan Theatre on Monday afternoon, Australian time, but it was his hit Somebody That I Used To Know that was the most interesting, thanks to a very special guest appearance.
Gotye performed the smash hit song - which was a number one hit in the USA for eight consecutive weeks - with his band up until the female verse (which is usually sung by Kimbra) kicked in; it was at that point that one of Australia's favourite singer-songwriters Missy Higgins emerged from backstage to take on the verse.

The episode was shown Monday night, US time, with the full hour-long performance streamed on the Live On Letterman website, which is unfortunately geoblocked for Australian audiences.
