The death is not being treated as suspicious

Having been reported as missing last week, upon which friends and the police began the search for the missing Melburnian musician, Karl Von-Bamberger has now reportedly been found dead.

As reported by VIC Police, the 37-year-old's body was said to be found at Merri Creek in North Fitzroy on Monday afternoon, with the police stating, "The death is not being treated as suspicious."

The Australian Missing Persons Register reported that Von-Bamberger had been intending to see a friend in Fitzroy.

"Around 6:30pm he left a friends house and to return home, and rang his best friend who he regulary visits to inform him he would be on his way over by tram and foot from Coburg to Fitzroy. (His bike was damaged). He anticipated to be there after this 7:40pm conversation but never arrived," they wrote on their Facebook page.

Von-Bamberger was a well-known member of the arts and music community, with his mother Karen Buczynski-Lee telling Fairfax that she was moved by the "tremendous" efforts of her son's friends in searching for him.

She said, "It's a real reflection of his network of friends and how full the life of an artist in Melbourne is."
