Melbourne songwriter Kids At Midnight (Jane Elizabeth Hanley) has scored global attention thanks to Mindy Kaling's new Netflix series, Never Have I Ever.

The Music reported last month that the indie pop artist's 2019-released track, Boys Like You, is featured in Kaling's show which has received critical acclaim from fans and critics since premiering on 27 April.

The series has also been a win for Kids At Midnight with Boys Like You currently sitting at #4 on Apple Music's Shazam Discovery list.

“Everything is blowing up, it’s crazy," Hanley told The Music.

"The response has been more than I could’ve dreamed. I feel so lucky to have been a part of such a special series that has gone straight to the hearts of so many people - all around the world too!

"I’m getting just the sweetest messages from new fans - that they feel like I wrote it just for them, or that it makes them remember a crush they never had, or that they’re just listening to it on repeat and crying. And then I tear up when I read those sorts of messages because as a songwriter that’s the goal.

"It’s been this huge thing connecting us and it’s really touched my heart."

Boys Like You will appear on Kids At Midnight’s debut album expected to drop later this year.

Never Have I Ever is streaming on Netflix now.
