The Coburg RSL is going to ring loud and proud with the sounds of some of Australia's finest indie musicians when the Milk! Records roster take over the bandroom for a series of $10 shows next month.

Held over the first three Wednesdays of July — that's the 5th,12th and 19th — artists such as label founders Courtney Barnett and Jen Cloher as well as their pals Fraser A. Gorman, Loose Tooth, East Brunswick All Girls Choir, Ouch My Face and Hachiku will take to the RSL's humble stage to provide the evening's soundtrack while the space's 'Whet Yer Whistle Wednesday' promotion will keep your taste buds happy with cheap drinks from 4pm-7pm and $5 soup to complement. Music starts at 7.30pm.

There's an element of mystery to the shows, in that the line-up won't be announced ahead of time, so it's anyone's best guess as to which configuration of creatives the audience will be treated to on any given Wednesday — but, then again, for 30 bucks you could see the lot, which is still pretty dang good value.

Tickets for the Milk! Records Coburg RSL residency are available now through the label's online shop.
