American-based Aussie rapper Iggy Azalea will likely have a number one in her home country this week, with The New Classic the favourite to top this weekend's album chart according to midweek figures.

Having cracked the top five in the UK and touted as a likely top performer debut in the US charts this week, Azalea is leading the charge to number one in Australia in a week there may be wholesale changes at the pointy end. A quiet week for releases saw Chet Faker hold his number one spot on the ARIA Albums Chart this week, but he'll likely be dislodged by Azalea and The Vamps's Meet The Vamps.

Blur frontman Damon Albarn's solo record Everyday Robots is a slower seller, with a mixed reception from critics and fans leaving it around the 20 mark at this point. Other debuts will come from Pixies' Indie Cindy (which has also received a mixed reaction), Sol3 Mio's selftitled and Mark Vincent's Best So Far.

There are some familiar chart names moving this well in the midweeks, with Michael Bublé's To Be Loved and ABBA's ABBA Gold & More (Anniversary Edition) selling well. On-tour MKTO are seeing a bump for their #1 MKTO and Ed Sheeran's promotional tour is pushing + back up the rankings as well.

The red-haired pop star will make even more of an impression on the ARIA Singles Chart where his track Sing will threaten Sheppard's three-week-long stint at #1 with Geronimo. The Brisbane band have been flying the flag for independent labels and distributors (Chugg Music and MGM to be specific) with an unprecedented run at the top, but the power of a whirlwind and jam-packed promotional tour might just whip Sheeran's teenage fanbase into continued strong sales.

There'll be more Aussies climbing the chart though, with Darwin vocalist Vassy's track with David Guetta and Showtek Bad looking to break into the top ten, which Iggy Azalea might also creep into with single Fancy.

Samantha Jade's Up!, Katy Perry's Birthday and Passenger's Hearts On Fire will all jump this week while there'll be top 50 entries for Avicii's Lay Me Down and Pharrell Williams's controversial Marilyn Monroe.
