Belgian hardcore band Midnight Souls have announced they've decided to call it a day. The band posted the following statement regarding the breakup.
"Always simple never easy." Four words that perhaps capture everything that has happened to the five of us in the past four years. And with these words in mind, we want to tell you that our time as Midnight Souls has come to an end.

We started this band at a point in our lives where we needed to do this. Now four years later we can say that the road we took has been cathartic and has a led us to a place where don’t feel the same need anymore. We’ve accomplished many of the goals we set out for ourselves, playing the music we wanted to play, the way we wanted to play it. Looking back on everything we can honestly say that for once there are no regrets. We can look back on the countless days, weeks and months we spent pouring our hearts into chords, drum fills and sore throats with peace of mind.
Right now, life is prohibiting us from taking the band to a higher level and that alone is reason enough for us to put it all to rest. As a band we were always looking forward to see what was in the future, but after we releasing “Going Through The Motions” that future became less and less clear. Midnight Souls was a band that constantly tried to push forward and evolve. Simply staying in one place felt like moving backwards to us. We always put our heart into everything we did 100% and not being able to do this anymore felt like being dishonest to the band, ourselves and the people out there supporting us."
The band also announced their plans to head into the studio to record a final song, to be "released on our final show on June 29th of 2013."
The band released their only full-length album 'Going Through the Motions' in February of last year. A full statement from the band can be found here.
